The top-seeded HKBN Little Tycoons, following an impressive regular season that saw the team finish with a 14-5 record, won the U11 Scotiabank Island League championship in dominating fashion. The Little Tycoons faced off against a scrappy Manulife Little Aces team who had finished 3rd in the regular season standings.

Despite being behind 1-0 after the first period, the Little Tycoons proved to have too much firepower for the Little Aces to handle. Yann Yuen had a hat trick in the 7-3 victory, while Mitchell Smyth added two goals and two assists.

Prior to the Championship game, the Scotiabank Little Sharks and the Kung Pow Little Kings skated in a back-and-forth and action packed third place game. The Little Sharks claimed victory by a score of 5-4, despite a furious third period comeback attempt from the Little Kings.

Program update: The always-inclusive U11 Island League is looking ahead to another great season, and to continuing growing the skills of young players. Coach Whitney, perennial favorite coach of Junior Tigers players, will be back at the helm next season!
