Tournament Description
Greater Bay Classic 3vs3 is a new Hong Kong ice hockey tournament for youth players (and one division for adults) to gain experience and exposure against players from the region and around the world. The tournament provides a platform for high-level competition, allowing players to improve their skills against strong opponents.
The concept of 3vs3 cross ice, increases the activity of players with and without the puck.
Small area games = more action
Team will be drafted to ensure balance and competitive games.
Age:
U9 (7-9 years old)
Born 2016-2017
A tournament for Junior Tigers players to develop both team and individual skills through game play in a fun environment.
Draft Format
- All players will need to sign up individually with parent consent
- Players can list one teammate to be drafted together (both players should list the other person they want to play with to be considered)
- Players and goalies can sign up for ONE division only
- Selected coaches will be invited from various clubs to draft the teams and coach them during the tournament
- Deadline to register – Jan 20, 2025
- Registration is first come, first served ONLY.
Event Includes
- 5 games per team
- 3 games round robin games per division
- 2 games semi final games per division
- 2 games (Consolation/Championship) per division
Tournament Prerequisites
- Overaged players are not allowed to play
- Teams are only allowed a maximum of 5 under-aged players
- A minimum of 4 teams are required for each division.
- Expected level of play –AA
- Maximum 6 players & 1 goalie
Eligibility - Birth Years are strictly monitored
Structure
- Awards presentation will take place after each Championships Final.
- Team standings are based on:
- Most points, most wins, head-to-head, least goals against, higher goals for, least penalty minutes, greater goal difference, and puck toss.
- Final Rules and regulations and confirmation of the game format will be released prior to the start of the tournament.
- Statistics and results – will be posted at each game.

Game Format
- 3 on 3 plus 1 goalie
- All players and goalies will be drafted on a team
- Running Time – 2 periods x 20 mins
- In the playoffs, if the game is tied, the teams will play a 3 min overtime period – 3 on 3. Except in the championship game where a second overtime period will be played. If still tied, a 3 player shootout will determine the winner.

Junior Tigers management reserves the right to change tournament format (i.e., add or subtract a division) if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Participants who have signed up and paid for a tournament or event that is changed due to above-mentioned reason, will be receiving a full refund if the division is no longer available.
